Duke Hunt specializes in managed brokerage accounts and variable annuities, with a focus on retiring professionals and current retirees. He has been licensed since 1994, holding Series 24, 7, 31 63, and 65. He holds CFP and ChFC professional designations and Life, Health and Variable accreditations.
Having worked primarily in the retirement market, Duke has the skills and experience to help clients plan for both the accumulation and distribution of retirement assets. He particularly emphasizes risk management, performance, and keeping costs low. With his practiced eye and a firm commitment to serve his clients best financial interests, he has the tools to analyze their current holdings against comparable options, while educating them individually so they have a thorough understanding of the products in their portfolios and the reasons these products have been selected.
This personal attention to each client is indicative of Duke’s business philosophy and proactive style. After providing a broad overview and analysis of each client’s current portfolio, he then concentrates on one particular area for improvement and moves on to other areas with a thorough, methodical approach, spending as much time as necessary to ensure his clients are fully aware of the investment rationale supporting his recommendations.
As Duke says, ‘‘I enjoy helping people and being their advocate in the market. There are so many choices for people to look at when making investment decisions, and I like doing the analysis and coming up with the right choice.’’
Two words characterize Duke - Tenacity and Trust: He is diligent, persistent, and is not satisfied until the right option is found for his clients. Above all, his clients recognize they have received the best advice and have entrusted their money to the right person. Duke was born in Annapolis, Maryland, and still resides there with his wife and three children. He attended St. Mary’s High School in Annapolis, received his BA in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park, and his MS Finance from the University of Baltimore.
He enjoys coaching and supporting the activities of his children. He is active in leadership of his local parish’s Knights of Columbus, supports events for the Coastal Conservation Association, the Oyster Recovery Program, and the YWCA.
