Celebrating 20 years at Delmarva Financial Group

February 03, 2023

We hope everyone had a Happy Holidays with their families and friends. As we begin 2023, we wanted to share some exciting news here at Delmarva Financial Group (DFG).

This past month, Delmarva Financial Group celebrated our 20th Anniversary in business. On January 10th, 2003, Al Cassinelli & Beau Breeden, left American Express Financial Advisors and launched our Company, DFG. Well, here we are 20 years later, after five Presidential Election cycles, four Presidents, a housing boom & bust, the Great Recession of 2008-09, up markets, down markets, record low interest rates, a 20-year war in Iraq & Afghanistan, a global pandemic, unprecedented government spending, pandemic supply chain issues resulting in 40 year high inflationary pressures and near record raising of rates in response by the Federal Reserve. We have grown from serving 50 clients with $10 Million in Assets Under Management (AUM), to serving nearly 250 clients with over $100 Million in Assets Under Management.

As we begin the next decade in Delmarva Financial Group history, we are excited to announce that late in the fall of 2022, Duke Hunt joined the DFG Team as a Financial Advisor. He has been licensed since 1994, holding Series 24, 7, 31, 63, and 65. He holds CFP and ChFC professional designations and Life, Health, and Variable accreditations. Having worked primarily in the retirement market, Duke has the skills and experience to help clients plan for both the accumulation and distribution of retirement assets. As Duke says, ‘‘I enjoy helping people and being their advocate in the market. There are so many choices for people to look at when making investment decisions, and I like doing the analysis and coming up with the right choice.’’

Duke was born in Annapolis, Maryland, and still resides there with his wife and three children. He attended St. Mary’s High School in Annapolis, received his BA in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park, and his MS Finance from the University of Baltimore.

He enjoys coaching and supporting the activities of his children. He is active in leadership of his local parish’s Knights of Columbus, supports events for the Coastal Conservation Association, the Oyster Recovery Program, and the YWCA.

DFG continues to grow and in order to serve our client’s needs, to support your goals, and our business model, this strategic addition should improve our planning and wealth management solutions. We have been searching for the right people to work with Jenna and myself in order to improve Delmarva Financial Group. As you might remember, back in September, we announced the hiring Michael McGuire as a Registered Office Assistant. A quick update on Michael’s progress since having joined the team, this past week, he passed the Series 7. The exam measures the degree to which each candidate possesses the knowledge needed to perform the critical functions of a general securities representative, including sales of stocks, bonds, mutual funds and many other investment solutions.

You can reach out to welcome Duke at as he integrates into the team. You can congratulate Michael on passing a very difficult professional exam at as he begins his financial service career. If you haven’t heard from Jenna recently, you can congratulate her on starting her 13th year at Delmarva Financial Group last week. Jenna, as everyone knows is the backbone of our company and operations, she can be reached at

Beau Breeden now in his 23rd year in the industry and beginning his 21st year with Delmarva Financial Group, looks to welcome Duke and his clients to the DFG Team. We can now share more than 70 years of industry experience with our clients as we look to the year and decade ahead! Don’t be surprised to get an email in the coming weeks and months as we help guide our clients towards their goals through these challenging markets.  Delmarva Financial Group is here and better prepared today to help each of you grow the life you want!

Best wishes to y’all in 2023!
